Model a Scanning-Slit Beam Profiler

Posted 9 hours ago

I would like to model a Scanning-Slit Beam Profiler that slices through a laser beam to produce profiles in X and Y axis.

A detailed working principle can be found here. Basically, there's 2 slits that are orthogonal to each other is located on a rotating drum that rotates at a 45° axis of rotation. So in principle, the 2 orthogonal slits will slice the incoming beam in vertical axis (Y) and horizontal axis (X) - producing X and Y profiles of the beam.

I would like to model this in Mathematica. I can model a simple collimated Gaussian beam but I would like to use simulate the how these 2 orthogonal slits produce the X and Y profile.

Any help is appreciated. Cheers!
