Problem opening Mathematica version 10

I just downloaded and installed version 10 on my Windows 7 64 bit computer. It meets all of the system requirements. I attempt to open Mathematica but it just doesn't. I can open the kernal but just not the actual program. I went to the task manager to look at the processes and they're just stuck at about 5,500k memory. I tried restarting my computer, uninstalling and then reinstalling, and opening as administrator. Nothing so far has worked. I'd really appreciate it if I could get some help with this. Thanks.

I tried all of those and nothing worked. I ended up contacting technical support and they told me to try to boot it up in safe mode. It worked and when I went back to normal mode it also finally started working.

This should be cleared with the configuration files step, but might as well be thorough.

Can you describe in more detail what happens when you try to run Mathematica?

I would first try to remove the configuration files ( If you have not tried already, completely uninstall Mathematica (, download a new installer and try installing it.

If you continue to see problems, you should contact wolfram technical support (, letting them know what you've tried already.
