Linking the Hubble Tension and the Fine Structure Constant: A beginner's question

Posted 3 hours ago

Hi everyone!

I am just a beginner with no formal background in physics, so please bear with me if this sounds naive.

I was looking for a geometric link between the cosmological scale and the quantum scale (related to Dirac’s Large Numbers Hypothesis).

I decided to model the Hubble Tension (Planck 67.4 vs SH0ES 73.0 at z=1100) as a logarithmic information decay across a discrete network. This yields a 3D vacuum friction of: alpha_vac ≈ 0.010946

Applying the classical 2/3 Larmor projection factor (2D transverse wave over 3D space) to this rate yields:

alphaEM = (2/3) * (DeltaH0 / (H0 * ln(z_cmb)))

Plugging in the values: alpha_EM = (2/3) * (5.6 / (73.0 * ln(1101))) ≈ 0.00729736 ≈ 1/137.035

This is the Fine Structure (+-) Constant.

Does this cosmological-to-quantum link make physical sense, or is it just a coincidence? Numerology? Would love to hear your thoughts.
