3D finite element frame analysis - Framica

I am pleased to announce the issue of version 1.3 .2 of the 3D frame analysis paclet, Framica. Framica is an interactive 3D space-frame structural analysis workbench that runs entirely inside a Mathematica notebook. Build a model by editing members and nodes in a live 3D viewport — or generate the geometry algorithmically and load it with a single function — then assign sections, apply loads, and run static, thermal and natural-frequency analyses without ever leaving the notebook. Because it is Wolfram Language throughout, results come back as computable data you can drive further, and the whole tool — interface and scripting alike — travels as one self-contained paclet. This together with my manual on "Using finite elements to analyse Structures in Mathematica" which is also available in the Notebook Archive at http://www.notebookarchive.org/2026-01-dtiqavj/ provides the tools for analysing structures required by structural or civil engineers and will also be of use to many mechanical engineers.First mode for grid shell Further works in the course of preparation, include "LineTerra" a program for downloading Lidar data or Geographics, drawing multiple sections , calculating earthworks and highway route design. "TerraPercolatio," a program for drawing flownets and "TerraLapsus," a program that analyses the stability of slopes by finite elements. As with Framica these are all written in Wolfram and will be published as paclets for use with Mathematica and are offered free to use, at your own risk.

The program can be installed from the Wolfram Paclet Depository using the following link https://resources.wolframcloud.com/PacletRepository/resources/MalcolmWoodruff/Framica/ Once installed it can be loaded by evaluating, once per session.

Needs["MalcolmWoodruffFramica"] Once loaded it can be called with

Framica["id"]

Where "id" is any name you choose for the frame you want to analyse.
