How to print out numerical values instead of fractions or equations?

Posted 10 years ago

Hi everyone,

I'm sure most of you will tell me that Mathematica isn't for me. However, if anyone can humour me and tell me how to make it print out numbers, decimals, and not fractions or equations. It would be much appreciated.

Many thanks,

Lloyd

Hi Lloyd, If you want to work with mathematics, Mathematica is certainly for you.

Here is a link to the Virtual Book. It can also be found in the Mathematica installation by searching for "Virtual Book" in the help system. Virtual Book

Here is a link to Stephen Wolfram's new primer on the Wolfram Language. An Elementary Introduction

Thanks a lot, David.

There good sources of info. I may have what I need in the elementary intro and suspect it'll give me more on the way.

Thanks for the links!

Just put instead of 3, 3.0 et cetera. Now it will work with "real numbers" rather than integers/fractions.

Thanks, Sander. That's a nice trick. :)
