Community Knowledge Exchange day at WTC 2016

Posted 8 years ago

Hello,

we (Wolfram Language enthusiasts from Mathematica.StackExchange and Community.Wolfram.com) are trying to organize an event attached to the Wolfram Technology Conference 2016, a pre-conference, about development strategies.

The main goal is to present experience gained developing big and complex applications/packages, those GUI heavy too, in WL. There are no established standards (except "basic packages") so the more we share the sooner we can try to create them.

More or less, the shape is under development. All credits to Pedro Fonseca for raising this idea. Please take a look at:

Community Knowledge Exchange day 2016 @ http://meta.mathematica.stackexchange.com/

We need your help:

  • Tips about financing and practical aspects of organization are welcome.
  • Do you want to share your experience, in coding non trivial packages/apps in WL, that others can learn from? Post an answer in linked topic so we can schedule it. (details about scope, refundation etc. can be found in linked topic)
  • Are you interested in participating in lectures already proposed there? Vote vote vote. We need to know if there is a demand.

This is only a teaser, stay tuned!

I'd like to point out that there used to be a group of several people at Wolfram Research supporting 3rd party developers. That is now a collateral duty for one person.
