Description:

You will conduct research and analysis that employs a combination of advanced operations research methods in the study of complex and national security issues. Position requires Operations Research advanced technical education in the application of operations research to the analysis of tactical, operational and strategic military issues on a regional basis. Requisite requirement is the ability to immediately contribute to the process of preparing and delivering analytical products to personnel in the US government. Conduct research and analysis; prepare briefings and technical reports, brief DoD and IC customers on research and findings. Interact with Government personnel in meetings and seminars.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Operations Research
  • Twenty plus (20+) years military experience up to command-level operational background
  • Knowledgeable of day-to-day military regional operations within DoD; specifically, experience in the Pacific area of operations.
  • Able to apply operations research to analyze a variety of national security topics
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a diverse team of highly trained technical analysts
  • Strong career interest in national security studies
  • Excellent analytic, research, and writing skills required to provide technical and non-technical material
  • Comfortable in preparing and delivering detailed, oral presentations derived from research and analysis to senior DOD officials

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Understanding of regional issues from military planning and operational perspective
  • Language skills desirable but not required. Prior exposure to the existing team of Leidos technical specialists
  • Ability to use Mathcad, Mathematica or similar advanced mathematical modeling software
