He received his BSc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michoacan, México in 1990, the M.Sc. degree from the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon in 1993, and the Ph.D. in Power Systems from the University of Glasgow, Glasgow, U.K., in 1997. Since 1989, he has been with Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolas de Hidalgo, Michocán México where he is currently a Professor of the Electrical Engineering graduate program. His research interests center on electrical power systems, harmonic analysis, as well as modeling and simulation of electronic power systems and their application to smart power grids.
