Professor Vladimir Aslanov has been Theoretical Mechanics Department Head/Professor at Samara National Research University since 1989. He is also a Professor of the Department of Mechatronics and Theoretical Mechanics at the Moscow Aviation Institute since 2023. His scientific interests include classical mechanics, nonlinear oscillations and chaotic dynamics, mechanics of space flight, dynamics of gyrostats, and dynamics of tethered satellite systems and spacecraft stability. He has published multiple books with Elsevier, including Dynamics of Tethered Satellite Systems, Rigid Body Dynamics for Space Dynamics and Attitude Dynamics and Control of Space Debris During Ion Beam Transportation.
