User Portlet

I started programming in the early 90s. My first machine was a ZX Spectrum with 16KB of RAM. I learned programming as a kid hacking BASIC and ZX80 assembly, and later writing programs in C and Delphi on top of win16 and win32 APIs.

I started my career building low latency trading systems for the financial industry. In 2009 I started a database company, RethinkDB, where we built a distributed database system that supported a broad array of querying operations (joins, aggregations, subscriptions, CTEs). We were acquired by Stripe where I built developer tools at a much higher scale.

Currently I work at Azure on distributed data services.
