I have a problem which I can't solve properly in Mathematica: A beam tilts at an edge; initially, it adheres, then it slides. First, the transition from adhering to sliding and then from sliding to the lifting of the edge should be determined....

In this case it is no pendulum equation, but an equilibrium condition for a rod in a crooked channel with an asymmetric cross-section. There is no oscillation going on.
