Interested in SystemModeler and Mathematica. A rising senior at Novi High School, Michigan, Shashank Swaminathan was introduced to physics when taking a course on mechanics during his freshman year. Since then, he has explored various physics-based projects and is currently doing computer modeling of systems. Outside of academics, he plays the flute in the Detroit Civic Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, is a member of the Novi youth council and is the treasurer of his school's Japanese club. He also holds a second-degree black belt in Isshinryu karate.
