Graduate as Electronics Engineer from Universidad Autónoma de Occidente in Colombia with a Master Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. Jorge is currently working in his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering in the Laboratory of Power Electronics and Medium Voltage Application. He has more than eight years experience in power electronics research projects where he built a comprehensive knowledge of modeling, simulation and testing up to 150kVA power electronics converters. His main research areas are Harmonic compensation systems, high-performance controllers in Rectifier and Inverter systems, analytical harmonic description of dead time effects in power converters, and embedded systems programming for power electronics applications. He also works as a consultant in control of industrial UPS systems.
