I am a physicist working in the field of trapped-ions quantum computing. My recent works concern the study of the light-matter interaction between atoms and vortex light carrying orbital angular momentum. I recently developed a theoretical framework to properly describe the atomic excitation probabilities for different structured light fields. I am particularly interested in using and developing simple Atomic Physics models to predict the core features of atoms or small ion-crystals interacting with classical or quantized light fields. My ambition is to exploit such simulations for designing novel light-matter interaction schemes and propose new ideas within the broad field of quantum technologies. In this perspective Wolfram Technologies could offer me a really valuable software platform.
