A rising senior at The Harker School, Michael avidly explores a wide variety of academic subjects. As Co-President of Math Club, he has represented his school in national competitions such as the Princeton University Math Competition (PUMaC) and given a guest lecture series on group theory for Math Club members. His lifelong journey in the world of mathematics also includes qualifying for the United States of America Junior Mathematics Olympiad (USAJMO). A member of the French National Honor Society, Michael loves to write and publish his works in French, including a short story in the literary journal Lunch Ticket and two articles for Sans Limite, the school French newspaper. Michaels love of French language and culture sparked his interest in linguistics, which he pursues by conlanging (inventing languages) and participating in the North American Computational Linguistics Olympiad (NACLO), where he is an Invitational Round qualifier. Michael also runs cross country and track after school. In his free time, he enjoys playing chess, double bass, and with his cat Pebbles, although preferably not at the same time.
