Marian Muresan, Professor Emeritus, is a mathematician and computer scientist at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

His research interests include optimal control, nonlinear optimization, ordinary and partial differential equations, special functions, classical analysis, number theory, cryptography, computational geometry, and algorithm design.

Throughout his career, Mureșan has held several visiting professor positions at various universities around the world, including the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany, the University of Perugia in Italy, the University of Szeged in Hungary, Kossuth Lajos University in Debrecen, Hungary, and the Cyprus Mathematical Society in Cyprus, where he also served as a trainer for the Olympic Mathematics Team of Cyprus.
