ABOUT ME:

Hello all, I am Phillip Deville. As a physics instructor, my primary interest is using Mathematica for physics education. However, it serves as a significant tool for private research as well. My specialization is acoustics, classical mechanics, wave physics, and data analysis. My master's work involved coding a passive beamforming algorithm using a steered power response method (SRP) to localize soniferous fish using multichannel hydrophone arrays; using the Wolfram language. I have experience in the analysis of sound recordings using Python and Mathematica. I have implement an FDTD method to solving Euler's equations for the purpose of obtaining velocity and pressure solutions to characterize what effect vessel noise has on spawning fish. Mostly, I enjoy coding many small projects in Mathematica, with the purpose of introducing physics students to topics both fundamental and advanced. Topics include classical mechanics, oscillations, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, electrostatics, magnetostatics, optics, and astronomy.
