After graduating as an electronics and communications engineer from Bangalore, India, I spent time in Sweden and Germany researching space technology and radio astronomy for my masters' thesis. Subsequently, I moved to the Netherlands to do my PhD in Astrophysics, specializing in computational astrophysics and simulations of the early Universe. After, short periods or postdoctoral work at the University of Tokyo and at the Canadian Institute of Theoretical Astrophysics, I joined the Social Brain Lab at the Netherlands Institute of Neuroscience working on the application of information theory and data driven transforms (like ICA, PCA) on understanding data from the primate brain.
