User Portlet

PhD in Math but got sidetracked into corporate consulting and have done no real math in 45 years.

I would like to use Mathematica to create strange new solid shapes, paste an image onto the outer skin, create another image inside, then print it all out. I have a lot of 2-D designs, but I have only just started with the 3-D part. I would really appreciate any referrals to groups or individuals here or to websites anywhere.
