User Portlet

Engineer dabbling in analysis often frustrated by Mathematica's opaque information. It often seems that Wolfram thinks it has the best way and why would you want to do it a different way, Sometimes we go on the quest to climb up the almost vertical learning curve and never make it.
Perhaps the community will at least help put me off and send me back to sanity, where when asked what I did at work, by my partner (who is a Literature graduate), I can explain about the supportive messages.
