Astronomer interested in star formation, interstellar medium, astrochemistry, doing numerical modeling. My research mainly concentrates on studying the physics and chemistry of the interstellar medium (ISM) in the context of star formation. I mostly do modeling but am also involved in observational projects. As director of the Physikalische Verein in Frankfurt, Germany, a 200-year-old non-profit organization dedicated to research and public outreach, I focus a lot on science communication and supporting STEM education.
