Partially retired pediatric clinical geneticist and metabolic physician; biochemical lab medical director. Amateur lover of math and its beauties since grade school. Lots of experience with simple population genetics, newborn screening blood tests (defining normal, learning about discriminant functions when 30 or 40 things are being measured), and related professional activities. Spending more time on math topics now that I have more time; revisiting old textbooks and new YouTube videos. Mathematica is an ideal project--learning a new language! The CV-19 epidemic is an unfortunate way for the non-math public to learn about exponential growth curves, doubling times, and sampling problems.
Also interested in birds and music (mainly classical--piano, organ, and choral).
