ABOUT ME:
I am a geologist and professor who works with undergraduate and graduate students. I use code I've written in Mathematica to determine present-day strain in the continental crust using velocity data from permanent geodetic GPS stations. In other studies, I have written Mathematica code to help us better associate earthquakes with the faults that generated them. And I am writing a "textbook" whose chapters are Mathematica notebooks, on the subject of plate kinematics (that is, how to compute the motion of Earth's lithospheric plates).
