Worked as scientist in R&D department of Food company (Fats and oils) from 1979 up to 2014. Worked with Mathematica since version 2. My ex-professional intersts were physical chemistry of fat crystalisation as influences by blend formulation, chemical modification, crystallisation cinetics and the effects on final product rheology. Got interested in combinatorics by playing with the intricacies of fat interesterification. This grew into a hobby, leading to a few entries into the "Online Encyclopedia of Integer Sequences" where I'm currently Associate Editor. Since a decade or so, I got charmed by the sub-field of Symmetric functions, Young Tableaux and the representation theory of the symmetric group Sn. I learned a lot using material on the web, and finally created my own 'toolbox' on http://users.telenet.be/Wouter.Meeussen/ToolBox.nb. Last fun bit : I followed a half semester course in mathematics at Ghent university on representation theory of Sn, and experienced the wide gap in mathematical background between 20 yo first year master students and me : they gallop where I crawl. But it put a huge smile on my face.
