I am a semi-retired chemist/inventor with many years experience in industry and in independent research on analytical instrumentation. I am the inventor of a number of techniques in chromatography, notably Ion Chromatography and Hydrodynamic Chromatography. I am listed as principal or co-inventor on 49 US patents and have received many honors and awards for my work. I have written a book on Ion Chromatography and for many years I have had the intention of writing interactive tutorials to supplement my book. That led to my interest in Mathematica which I am getting acquainted with. So I am a novice as far as Mathematica is concerned.
