Avoid excessive times required for "Formatting Notebook Contents" in M12?

I am facing the same issue, after version 13. It is crashing so much and so frequently. I am using Windows 10. Even though the memory is 16gb and the processor is fast enough for other languages, mathematica seems to be crashing even for simple import operations for csv files with more than 100k records. Delayed work a lot because of this reason.

Works fine on my machine with V13

Please note that scrolling a Dataset generated by SystemProcessData is almost impossible as it invokes "Formatting Notebook Contents" multiple times.

Wolfram teams are aware of the issue and is working on a resolution. Thank you for reporting and patience!

Thank you Shengui Yang for confirming the issue.

I tried to open the notebook with elevated privileges or using a block around the expression, but to no avail. For expressions like these I revert back to version 11.3.

Cheers,

Dave

No such crashes here with Mathematica 12.0 under macOS 10.14.4 on a 2019 iMac with 64 GB RAM.

What exactly is your hardware configuration?

I can reproduce the aforementioned issue on windows. The mac version handles the operations fine.
