Why does Mathematica 12.0 want to access my contacts?

Why does it keep asking me?

Why does the kernel hang when I tell it no?

Who in Wolfram thinks that asking me this is a good idea?

Who in Wolfram would think that I would ever answer, "Yes"???

When is it asking? Are you using a function that requires contact? Ive never seen this prompt.

If you are on Mac OS, selecting "Don't Allow" should not cause the kernel to hang.See this KB article. If it does then I would report it to Wolfram Support.

Thanks Rohit for confirming the existence of what I consider to be very bad behavior. It happens intermittently so I'm not sure if it hangs every time.
