Yes, Raspberry pi uses Linux. Unfortunately, these key combinations did not work for me. As a workaround, I created a symbolic link :
pi@raspberrypi:~$ ls -s .WolframEngine WolframEngine
so that WolframEngine now appears in the open file menu and leads to .WolframEngine.
Not very nice but the trick may be acceptable for linux users.
