Open a hidden folder from Mathematica frontend?

An invisible file can be opened by typing directly its name, for example ~/.Mathematica/Kernel/init.m. After opening .Mathematica, the menu can be used to go deeper and the Mathematica file explorer displays .Mathematica (only for current session). I am now on v12.2.

Yes, Raspberry pi uses Linux. Unfortunately, these key combinations did not work for me. As a workaround, I created a symbolic link :

pi@raspberrypi:~$ ls -s .WolframEngine WolframEngine

so that WolframEngine now appears in the open file menu and leads to .WolframEngine. Not very nice but the trick may be acceptable for linux users.
