The Wolfram Engine exited during an activation

Does anyone encounter the error that "The Wolfram Engine exited during an activation attempt because an error occurred" when activating the free Mathematica engine?

Why does it not tell what the error is when saying "The Wolfram Engine exited during an activation attempt because an error occurred"?

And how to fix the error?

I also met that error. My problem is that the version I download is not compatible with my linux system (my system is too old). That problem is fixed after I installed an older Mathematica version.
