Suggesting a fluid in SystemModeler

v13.0 of System Modeler provides access to many fluids (bravo!). Unfortunately, I need one more fluid available in NIST/RefProp but not in the list of fluids for v13.0. Can I ask that the fluid be added? Or can you provide access to RefProp directly (most helpful) through System Modeler?

The fluid library automatically accesses the fluids defined inside the Modelica->Media library.

If all the thermodynamic relations are known then a custom fluid can be created. Some documentation can be found here:

https://reference.wolfram.com/system-modeler/libraries/Modelica/Modelica.Media.UsersGuide.MediumDefinition.html

You can of course get in touch with Wolfram Technical Consulting if you want us to add custom fluids for you.

Unfortunately, as the ExternalMedia library is dependent on new features that we are working on, we do not have a target date for it yet.

Thanks Ankit. Does Wolfram have a target date? Accessing RefProp through ExtenalMedia in System Modeler would be great.

Can you share how System Modeler accesses the fluids currently available, and how the fluids were chosen? Could we talk about adding another fluid in the near future? Should I talk with Wolfram Technical Consulting?

Hi Patrick,

We do have plans to support the ExternalMedia library using which you can access the fluids available in RefProp from System Modeler.
