The first one, without a callout, is not an issue, but as soon as I add a callout within a dynamic plot, as in the second graph, Mathematica starts to guzzle my CPU power and noticeably slow down.
If anyone knows, can you help me spot an issue here?

What version are you running? I am unable to reproduce the issue on "13.1.0 for Mac OS X ARM (64-bit) (June 16, 2022)".
