This is really neat, Silvia. I hadn't seen the original post. I like the way there are two frequencies going in- and out-of-phase, giving a variable beat frequency, and the illusion of rotation.
Thank you for the inspiring observation Robert! I added some notes for the phenomenon. Also I wonder what will happen if the base movement is not harmonic.
