[Mathematica v13.3] CUDAFunctionInformation not working as expected

Posted 1 year ago

Hi,
I am new here and hope to be posting in the correct forum group.

I have started playing with CUDALink and noticed that the function CUDAFunctionInformation ist not working as documented. When I enter and run the example provided (using Wolfram Mathematica v13.3) I get the following result:

enter image description here

This was not happening in previous Mathematica versions. My system is configured properly for CUDA support, as the output from CUDAInformation shows (extract):

{1 -> {"Name" -> "NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 with Max-Q Design",
   "Clock Rate" -> 1185000, "Compute Capabilities" -> 7.5,
   "GPU Overlap" -> 1, "Maximum Block Dimensions" -> {1024, 1024, 64},
    "Maximum Grid Dimensions" -> {2147483647, 65535, 65535},
[...]

Did someone else notice it too? What could be reason for the output, is perhaps the documentation not any more up to date?

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. The developer team is looking into it and the issue should be addressed in a future release.

Hi, using Wolfram Mathematica 14.1 && CUDA 12.5, I exactly reproduce the same error output from CUDAFunctionInformation. I used the same Wolfram demo code as shown by Alexis.

Same error output with Wolfram Mathematica 14.0 && CUDA 12.1.

Is this a bug or is something wrong with the Wolfram doc page for that function? Is the Wolfram team aware of this?

Actually I do not really need the CUDA support, so I just uninstalled it. Please consider this discussion to be closed :-)
