Why doesn't Wolfram Alpha understand: solve (x^(x^x))=2 for x ?

Why doesn't Wolfram Alpha understand: solve (x^(x^x))=2 for x ?
For example, the equation x^x=2 has the solution x = e^W(log(2))≈1.55961.
