Hardware for exploring "Generative AI Space"?

I was inspired by Wolfram's blog post on Generative AI Space and the Mental Imagery of Alien Minds but realized that I can't run any of his code because my Mathematica installations are on MacOS and GPU use is not supported. Can anyone give me a sense of how long it would take to run his examples on a newish Linux or Windows laptop (minutes, hours, days)? I would like to get into the kind of experimentation he describes but I don't have a sense of whether it can be done with a modest system or whether it requires a lot of computational resources or some kind of cloud deployment. Thanks!

Wolfram technical support replied to let me know that a modest setup with a fairly recent NVIDIA GPU should be sufficient, as long as it is compatible with required drivers
