New ''e'' series representation

Posted 2 years ago

Hello, I have recently published a new formula related to the mathematical constant ''e''. It is expressed as follows:

e = Sum[(2 k + 3)/((k+2)!), {k, 0, Infinity}]

To my knowledge, this particular representation has not yet been registered in the Wolfram formulas database.

Hi, Antonio. Nice work. However, your preprint begins with six "notable examples," five of which come from my 2004 MAA paper "Improving the Convergence of Newton's Series Approximation for e." That article was the first to announce simple power series that improve on Newton's and Euler's work. You've presumably combed the Wolfram Functions Repository looking for your formula. Given that my research clearly dominates the "Series Representations" section, it's all the more surprising that your preprint does not reference my paper as the source for those formulas.
