I am trying to do a high-level survey of examples of Ruliology. This is a nice example that makes me think about a class of "goal-oriented ruliology". Rather than starting from a rule (or set of rules) as the basis of exploration, this takes a set of goals ("generate specific well-defined geometries"), and then seeks simple hypergraph rewriting rules to achieve those goals.
