cant figure out how to use and download Mathematica

If I get help on how to use and download Mathematica it would be greatly appreciated!

Note that I dont go to a university or college. So how do I download Mathematica for my personal use? How do I install it on my computer? And how strict is the license for my use of Mathematica? I don't even know if I am allowed to download Mathematica or not!
