Inputting Phi into Mathematica

Posted 10 years ago

Hi all,

I'm building a Game-theory model for my research paper and using Mathematica is the only way to visualize the first-order conditions in my optimization problem. However, I am very new to Mathematica and would greatly appreciate advice on inputting equations into the system. I have both capital Phi (CDF) and small-letter Phi (PDF) in my equation, with 5 parameters (including precision and signal parameters) and one variable. I need help on two fronts:

1) How do I input Phi into Mathematica?
2) How do I specify parameters in Mathematica?

I've looked through the tutorials on these matters but I haven't been able to find an answer, and would be immensely grateful if the online community could direct me to some sources on these topics.

Thank you in advance for your help!

First, demonstrations can be helpful in understanding how to code here normaldistribution Second, search in mathematica help under normaldistribution , CDF and PDF
