Creating GUI for schedule programming

Posted 10 years ago

I'm looking for any tutorial information or guidance to help me get started on a GUI program for creating a schedule programming system. I'm working with a partner, and we decided we would try to build the program on mathematica. While I don't have much programming experience, I have some primitive experience with mathematica, and I figure now is as best a time as any to learn. What would be the best way to start learning the more advanced aspects?

We are still trying to figure out the objective equation and associated constraints, but I would like to start learning more about mathematica to prepare for later.

The target platform is windows. We won't be dealing with a website; it is a stand-alone program, and while I personally would love to create the program within the kernel. Through the notebook may be more condusive based on our timeline for the next 3 months in terms of ease.

What is the target platform? Are you making a website? Are you making a standalone program? Are you content with a Mathematica notebook which has the interface? Is a CDF that you an embed into a webpage okay?

I would start by learning how Dynamic works in Mathematica:

http://reference.wolfram.com/language/tutorial/IntroductionToDynamic.html http://reference.wolfram.com/language/tutorial/AdvancedDynamicFunctionality.html

These pages exist in Mathematica's documetnation as well and are interactive.
