Fix an error while opening a notebook and where to find the checkbox?

Posted 8 years ago

I opened a notebook file and received the following message:

There appears to be an error in the file named below. You should close it without saving,
then check the "Parse and load entire notebook into memory upon opening" checkbox in the Notebook Options dialog.

How, exactly, do I do the required action and what will be accomplished? The file is clearly dingged. But I cannot find how to accomplish the action. I find no evidence of the checkbox or where it might be located. Any hints would be appreciated.

You will find the checkbox under File -> Open -> Options

Interesting that I had missed that "option." Thanks for the help. Unfortunately, the file openned without any of the high-level models and only the underlying Mathematica code.

After opening and closing the file several times the mess went away but the file remained the same with the large areas of Mathematica code instead of the high-level models that I had constructed.

Nothing to be done about it so I just redid my models and moved on. Not sure where the original corruption occurred.

Thanks, again.
