Evaluate ToExpression via wolfram client in python?

Hello,

I tried to evaluate this simple expression in python:

ToExpression["\\frac {x}{y}",TeXForm]

but it hangs. The same expression successfully executed in wolframscript.
I wonder if this is a bug of the wolframclient.
