Welcome back! Wolfram Community has moved to a new platform, and we’re pleased to introduce the updated site. Your existing posts and profiles are here, along with the discussions built over the years. The new interface brings better ways to find useful material, share your work and keep up with the people and subjects that interest you.
Quick tips for the new interface
- Search in steps. Typing suggests Areas and sometimes people. Press Enter once to show matching topics and posts in the dropdown. To open the full search page and filters, choose Open advanced search or press Enter a second time.
- Preview a profile. Click a member’s avatar beside a post to open their user card. Click their avatar or username on the card for their full profile, or click outside it to keep reading.
- Return to where you left off. Reopening a topic can take you to your last-read post. Use the timeline on the right to return to the opening post or jump ahead; on smaller screens, tap the progress bar at the bottom.
- Quote a passage. Select text in a post and choose Quote to include it in your reply.
Find your place and contribute
If you’re used to Groups, the main change is how topics are organized: Categories tell you what kind of topic it is; Areas tell you what it’s about. Each topic (a discussion containing the opening post and any replies) belongs to one Category and can have several relevant Areas. Areas cover subjects, methods, Wolfram technologies, programs and publication contexts. A Question about quantum computing and an Idea presenting a quantum-computing project can share an Area while serving different purposes.

To publish, choose from the Categories available to you and select the relevant Area or Areas, then write your topic. Posts can still combine explanation, Wolfram Language code, mathematics and images, with notebooks and other files attached.
Categories also bring useful functionality: when a reply solves your Question, you can mark it as the solution, helping future readers find the answer quickly.
Find old favorites and discover new work
Try searching for something you remember from the old Community. Search is available from every page: press Enter after typing your query to see matching topics and posts in a dropdown without leaving the page. Advanced search lets you narrow results by Category, author, Area, creation date and status.
For browsing, choose a Category or Area, check Latest Activity for active discussions, or explore popular topics through Top. You’ll also find Staff Picks prominently on the homepage and Featured Articles in the top navigation: convenient places to discover work selected by the editorial team.
Get to know the people behind the work
Visit People in the top navigation, or All People in the sidebar, and explore individual profiles. Statistics include topics and replies created, likes received, time spent on the site and a breakdown of the types of topics a member creates most often. Take a look at your own profile, too!
Badges recognize participation and contributions and appear on members’ profiles. Some, including the Staff-Picked badge, also grant a special title displayed beside your name. Explore the Badges page to learn more, and visit Featured Authors to discover contributors recognized by our editorial team.
Personal messages let you contact other members directly. If you don’t see the option to send one yet, it will become available as you spend time reading and exploring Community.
Choose what to follow and save for later
On-site notifications let you see when someone has interacted with your posts, with unread notifications indicated in your user menu. You can keep up while using Community, without checking your inbox.
You also have finer control over when and why you receive email notifications. Notification preferences can be set for a Category, Area or individual topic. You might follow new topics in the quantum-computing Area or mute a particular topic. Take a moment to review your preferences and choose the activity you want to hear about.
When a discussion deserves more time than you have now, bookmark it. You can optionally add a reminder: choose when you’d like to return, and you’ll receive a notification reminding you of the saved topic.
