Which Jupyter interface to the Wolfram Engine?

We now seem to have (at least) two schemes for connecting Jupyter notebooks as a front end to the Wolfram Engine:

  1. The “minimalist alternative to WolframLanguageForJupyter”, by Nicola Cattabiani, as described in A minimalist alternative to WolframLanguageForJupyter .
  2. WolframLanguageForJupyter, from Wolfram Research, available at GitHub - WolframResearch/WolframLanguageForJupyter: Wolfram Language kernel for Jupyter notebooks · GitHub.

What are the comparative advantages and disadvantages of these two schemes?
