Joel Choi graduated from Grinnell College with a bachelors in Physics and Mathematics in 2023 and joined the Wolfram Summer School the same year. He has performed research in studying satellite orbit modification via tether deployment, using C++, Python, and Mathematica to derive the equations of the model, calculate them given some parameters, and visualize it. He has no specific field of interest and is still learning what he would like to study in this path to a PhD in theoretical physics. ​ In his free time Choi enjoys dancing, drawing digital illustrations, and playing video games. He was one of the founders and teachers in his school hip hop club and has organized gaming tournaments at his school
