This is a very nice example of Ruliology. It suggests some "Best Practices for a piece of Ruliology":

  • Begin with a concise abstract detailing the aim and scope.
  • State rules, initial conditions, and methodological specifics.
  • Show only the most relevant visual and quantified outcomes.
  • Classify behaviors as appropriate.
  • Reflect on technical/process limitations.
  • Offer interpretations and propose directions for further study.
  • Close with references, reproducible code, and acknowledgments.

This example showcases how a “piece of Ruliology” moves from motivation and experiment to systematic documentation and interpretation. I am adding it to the list of examples that I am curating. :-)
