My approach to this would be to disentangle the graphics from the units and then use a simplified approach to specifying the graphics. I do this with two applications I've written. If you would like a copy of them just write me and I'll give you the...
Is it possible to obtain the 'Details and Options' section and display, which appears on WRI documentation, when using Workbench to document Function pages.? (Instead of the older 'Details" section.) If so, how does one do it?
I describe how to do this, according to the way that WRI provides, in an [essay][1] at my web site. You need only the first part of the essay. Essentially, create an application in your \$UserBaseDirectory/Applications directory and put your...
Isn't graph theory a mathematical theory about mathematical structures that can be ENTIRELY represented by symbolic structures WITHOUT any reference to graphical representations on a screen or piece of paper? Then the mathematical representation...
Hi Andy, First you should become reasonably familiar with Mathematica. The best way to do this is to read the 'Introduction for Programmers' and 'An Elementary Introduction to the Wolfram Language'. by Stephen Wolfram, both available at the bottom...
Many thanks Daniel, that works pretty well and is simpler. Trying to factor a 5-form in 7-dimensional space using Solve I aborted the calculation after 15 minutes. Using FindInstance took 6 seconds. A significant improvement!
Gianluca, The problem with that approach is that the Text statements are generally embedded in a larger set of Graphics primitives that will have many substitutions from assoc. So the first argument will still be subject to replacement. Otherwise...
Sascha, The following is a link to download a Mathematica UnitsHelper application. Its main palette has drop down menus for all the Mathematica physical constants, also all the units sorted alphabetically or by magnitude and that will paste into...
Thanks Adam, that explains it. It was not appropriate for me to use FindInstance in that way in that case. However it does show that form of Exists in the details for FindInstance, but the example does have free variables. And the Exists page does...
Here are some of my ideas regarding preferences in style, which I believe are discordant with some of the current Wolfram practice. Style is a matter of taste so many may differ from my suggestions but I do try to give reasons. Some suggestions may...
