ABOUT ME:

One of the most difficult tasks, after so many years as a composer, artist and harmonist, is writing a biography. So.. I decided just to make a short list, off the top of my head.

Drew Lesso Born in 1949 in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania and raised in a musical family.

At the age of 21, with a letter of introduction mailed ahead by Dr. Wiggins, music department head at West Virginia State University, I traveled to Cologne, Germany where I met with Karlheinz Stockhausen.

Stockhausen sent me to Munich, where after two semesters studying counterpoint with Gunther Bialas and a summer at the Goethe Institute, I was back in Cologne, where I pretty much stayed for the next 4 years, enrolled at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik as a member of the Stockhausen class. Johannes Fritch introduced me to the Harmonics work of Hans Kayser and Astrid Neuhaus, descendant of a line of piano instructors who taught Rimsky Korsakov, became my piano teacher.
