Education: I went to Northwestern University for my undergraduate degree (class of 2005), where I graduated with honors with a double-major in Mathematics and English Literature. After undergrad, I earned a master’s degree in Mathematics and the Foundations of Computer Science in 2006 from Oxford University and a master’s degree in secondary education from Northwestern University in 2007.
Career: I teach Multivariable Calculus, AP Calculus BC, and AP Computer Science Principles (starting in Fall 2016) at William Fremd High School in Palatine, IL. I am also the head coach of the Fremd Math Team. I have been a high school educator since 2007, and I earned my National Board Certification in 2013.
Professional Interests: My mathematical interest is computational number theory, but these days I spend most of my time doing recreational mathematics or using Mathematica to engage or challenge high school students. I enjoy creating Wolfram Demonstrations, and also working with students who are interested in creating their own.
Hobbies: Gardening, cooking, going on bike rides, hiking, reading, and watching reruns of Star Trek: The Next Generation.
