Karan is a high-school student whose interests include machine learning, philosophy and calculus. Karan also enjoys playing tennis, and in his free time, he reads, debates, writes and serves as a chairperson at his high school's Model UN Conferences. He has been an active participant in NASA's Space Settlement Design Competition and recently won at the Asian round of the competition. A TED-Ed speaker and the president of his school's TechX club, Karan has a knack for thinking of tech-based solutions that solve problems faced by society. He is currently working to develop machine-learning algorithms that can affect positive change in the field of medical diagnosis. His interest in ethics and philosophy has pushed him to look into the threats posed to neural networks by adversarial examples, and he has attempted to quantify this threat through a research paper.
